Bach Flower Therapy To Heal Mental Health Issues

  • The author of this article is Mr. Indroneil Mukerjee, Bach flower Therapist.

A couple of years ago, Manisha came to me for Bach Flower therapy, having been diagnosed with PTSD, after being involved in a serious road accident. She complained of a foggy brain, numbed sensation, insomnia and a sense of alienation from life as usual. She knew that the disorder had no cure and wanted help in being able to lead a normal life and get back to work. Sustained therapy for about six months helped her to accept the condition and brought her back to leading life as usual.

Sometime last December Anita came to me for Bach Flower therapy. She was an emotional wreck. Gripped with anxiety, she could not do anything except fret and fear. The pandemic made the situation worse. A single mother, she wanted to work to generate some income. However, with her prevailing emotional state, it was completely out of question. Six months of therapy, she’s now reaching out to COVID patients to help them and their families. Two months ago, she landed a job for herself at her own terms. No more in grips of anxiety, she’s now wanting to do something more meaningful for herself and others.

Hari retired from his job at the age of 60 and was consumed with a deep sense of loss of relevance. Nothing seemed to excite him in life. By and by he got into a state of depression – completely apathetic and resigned. He would carry out his day-to-day chores but without any joy. He was brought to me for Bach flower therapy and in six months’ time he not only regained the zest for life but also launched himself as a consultant, pursuing his passion.

Bach Flower therapy is transformational. And a disease or a disorder is seen as an opportunity to embark on this transformational journey.

“In true healing the nature and the name of the physical disease is of no consequence whatever. Disease of the body itself is nothing but the result of the disharmony between soul and mind.” ~ Dr. Edward Bach

The way a client-centric Bach Flower therapist goes about healing a mental health issue is very different from the conventional approach. The nature and name of the disease / disorder is of no consequence to him. He is more concerned with the emotional symptoms and the cause. He carries out a structured interview with the client to uncover the layers of emotions and even the underlying causes, which are often hidden deep in the unconscious. Based on his findings he constructs an emotional map of sorts, depicting the layers of emotions and their inter-relationships. This map then guides him to look for the right Bach flower remedies – each mapped to a symptom – with which he custom-carves harmonious combinations (composites). There are several iterations of this process, healing the client, layer by layer, till he reaches the root cause, the core issue. Once this is healed (which might take time) the client finds himself not only healed from the root, but transformed.

Bach Flower therapy, aided by the 38 remedies and around 4 million possible combinations can heal all conceivable mental health issue, if diagnosed and treated right. It can, thus, heal all psychosomatic manifestations of such issues too. Some of the mental health issues that are easily and successfully addressed and healed by Bach Flower therapy are the likes of Addiction, Anger, Anxiety, Depression, Fears and Phobias, Grief, Impatience, Lack of self-confidence and self-esteem, Loneliness, Low self-worth, Mental exhaustion, PTSD, Relationship issues, Sleeplessness, Stress, Suicidal tendencies, Trauma, among others.

Finally, its important to note that the remedies are safe and gentle and can be used on babies, expectant mothers, children, adults, aged people, pets and even plants.

They contain no bio-chemic component and are purely energetic in nature, hence can be used as a complementary therapy alongside any other course of treatment with no danger of side-effects, over-dosing or contra-indications.

So, those who are under treatment, through other modalities, including modern medicine, can safely adopt Bach Flower therapy to go alongside with other treatments.

My experience says, it will work wonders.
